How is it the 8th month of the year already? With the loss of my Dad, this year life has been, for a lack of a better word, “bumbly.” Up down, up-down, repeat. Loss has led me to look more deeply at myself and my life. I want to honor my dad’s life in the best way I can, so not one day will go by that I have not lived my passion. Take a moment to get your health on the right track. Prep a large salad, some beans, grilled veggies, and quinoa or rice. These foods are great add on’s to anything you want to eat and they are HEALTHY! Just open the fridge and voilà, you have just given your belly a food hug.
Take a look at your plate at every meal and check that your plate is 50% greens. Yes, breakfast too! Kale, spinach, chard, mixed lettuce, broccoli, and asparagus are some great choices. Make this a habit and watch how your waist shrinks and your energy soars!
Veggies on the BBQ:
My favorite purchase last year was a BBQ mat. This mat made it possible for me to roast veggies on the BBQ without them sliding through the grates. Super simple, super tasty. Toss in a large bowl your veggie of choice with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Get creative and add herbs and spices. This easy way to eat more veggies will not disappoint.

Who has been heavy on your heart? A friend, family member? Co-worker? Give them a call. Or better yet, show up and give them a belly to belly HUG. We get as much as we give.
You might even realize that you needed the HUG more than they did.
